„For the fourth time CO2online seeks the best climate protection projects at German schools. The competition is called “Energiesparmeister” and is funded by the German Ministry for the Environment. The last years showed how much public appreciation can motivate pupils and teachers to continue their work and start new projects. This is why we are happy to support U4energy. We are convinced that the international appreciation will enhance the future local, regional and national engagement of German school projects. Furthermore U4energy gives projects from all over Europe the unique chance to get in contact with each other, learn from innovative examples in other countries and exchange useful experiences.”

I am participating in this initiative in order to promote further the efficient use of energy in our schools and communities. "Thinking about energy efficiency brings the global environmental issues "down to earth". Students come up with their own creative ways how to save energy or use more sustainable sources. U4energy encourages them not to be only a passive by-stander but to be actively involved with their environment and deal with the issues. U4energy facilitates learning of important skills: creative problem solving, proactive approach, understanding and appreciating our interdependence with nature and our responsibility to keep the whole system in balance. Once they understand how everything is connected in one system, they acquire a new, more responsible view of themselves and the society they live in and hopefully create a more sustainable future for us all."

"I am taking part in U4energy because I believe that we have "to work" with young generations as much as possible. They can make a big difference in the future considering our environment and quality of life. So I believe initiative U4energy is one of the best ways to do so. I also believe that adults can change their/our ways too. So in my everyday life I am trying to live by the principal of environmental awareness. I am separating garbage (paper, glass, cans etc.), not wasting water and food, saving energy as much as possible, using bike instead of car or bus when possible..."
